Spring PowWow 2018 started on Friday 16th 2018 with a warm start to the weekend.

Your Chapter Adviser, Chapter Chief, and Mr. Neas attended the 2019 Conclave staff meeting, while other brothers were off seeking there brotherhood at the Brotherhood candidate meeting.

After the two meetings everyone headed to Cracker-barrel where the chapter met each other and saw more patches from Mr. Tomkins.

Shortly later the chapter headed down to Loblolly to get to bed inside hammocks and tents. On a cold Saturday morning the Saponi Chapter was at flags with excitement and enthusiasm.

During breakfast everyone enjoy the french toast sticks, sausages, scramble eggs, and the biscuit that the cook crew made. Thank you cook crew! After breakfast, Mr. Wetzel, Mr. Tomkins, Robbie Fisher, and Alberto Daniel with the Brotherhood ceremonial team headed down the ceremony ring to set up and practice for the brotherhood ceremony.

While they were there Mr. Neas was helping out with the PowWow and the Webelos Weekend with AIA.

Brotherhood candidates were helping with Carlton McKee by repairing the steps that lead towards our campsite. Thank You to those who helped!

Near the Afternoon some of our Brothers went to the NOAC 2018 meeting.  There are three current spots left for youth to go to NOAC in August if you are interested.

At lunch our theme which was paper was shown by our own VC of Admin South Jake McCall as the paperboy who gave our Lodge Chief a note that said. “Let us eat first at lunch – Saponi.”.  It didn’t work as we would eventually go last.

After a great lunch our Brotherhood candidates went to there Brotherhood trail and all past successfully. At 3’o clock the Quest for the Golden Arrow happen. At the Quest for the Golden Arrrow Competition Saponi lost in the first round of Tug-a-war for the first time since 2016! In the spam toss, Saponi also didn’t go as plan, your Chapter Chief can’t throw, but our Chapter Adviser can! Saponi would eventually take first place overall in the relay competition and would eventually get Saponi to place 5th out of 10 chapters.

In the evening time, Saponi’s paperboy would come back and give our Lodge Chief another note that said “Let Saponi eat first at Dinner – Saponi”.  We would eventually not go first, but at the Brotherhood call out before dinner our Brotherhood Candidates would go and eat.

The Brotherhood ceremony team and their advisor express their distaste of how Lodge Vice Chief, Matthew Bobzien smelled. He had been in a mustard and ketchup fight!
